Route 66

Day: 383

Photo taken on Friday, August 19, 2011 in my office at 430pm.

Just returned from taking my new kicks out for a 3 mile spin. I'm loving these Asics Gel Nimbus 13s! Great new trainers for the upcoming marathon! Thanks Moma!

Chappie

Day: Three Hundred and Sixty Four

Photo taken on Sunday, July 31, 2011 in our kitchen at 839am.

This is the first time I have ever completed a chap-stick before misplacing it or prematurely having to throw it out because it became gross. I love lip balm and putting it on is a compulsion that I never mind doing especially since I have a plethora of flavors and kinds to choose from. This particular one is a Yankee Candle SPF 15 balm, Vanilla Cupcake flavored. Yum.

There is a chap-stick in every bag I own as well as in hidden pockets of all my winter jackets. I have so many Chapsticks and Lip Smackers that I ran out of room in my night table drawer and had to find them a suitable and easily accessible place to reside.

So I chose the beautiful Ethan Allen jewelry box Moma bought me for Christmas. I know it was quite expensive but you have to understand, my lip balms are like the equivalent of gold to me so this is a perfect home for them.

Footsie

Day: Two Hundred and Seventy Eight

Photo taken on Friday, May 6, 2011 with Moma in BT Nails in Midlothian, VA at 639pm.

I'm not very girly but when it comes to getting pampered and massaged, I will NEVER say no. Moma coerces me into pedicures when I return from college saying that they use lotions to rub your feet and it is so relaxing you could fall asleep. She has me on the lotion part because if I don't have to do it compulsively, maybe I can actually enjoy it for once.

And I do. I am so hooked. As long as I choose a polish that I can see through, I will sit in that chair until they forcefully kick me out. Plus the girls that work there are amazing and do a thorough and great job, digging out all the damage I do to my nail beds from running and making my man feet look presentable. They are miracle workers!

Be Mine

Day: One Hundred and Ninety Two

Photo taken on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 in the dining area at 844pm.

I think because Steve gets home before me and retrieves anything by our door (community notices, packages, Poland Spring deliveries) that by the time my commute is over, he has forgotten to tell me about anything that was sitting outside. Kind of like the notice he received days ago about the gym being closed but neglected to tell me even as I inform him I'm going to run and I'm changing into my running clothes and walking out the door. 30 seconds later I ring the bell and he lets me back in.

"Gym's closed until further notice," I say.

"Oh right. We got a notice about that a few days ago."

Thanks Steve.

So when I come trotting out of our bedroom after a TRX workout instead, I notice a rather large box sitting on one of the barstools. "What's this?"

"A package. Oh yeah, that came today."

Thanks Steve.

The side of the box says Popcorn Factory so I giddily tear it open to find a Valentine's Day gift inside from my parents. Wu-hoo!!! Popcorn! Several different types plus candy and cookies and nuts and jelly beans. How can Steve forget about a package this good?!

Thanks Mom and Dad! Happy early V-Day!

Noogs

Day: One Hundred and Ninety One

Photo taken on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 on the LIRR at 636am. (Later train today because someone forgot to set their alarm. I won't point any fingers but I'm the only one who gets up at 435am.)

Moma is the only person I know that goes to a silent auction and only bids on stuff for other people. She is always thinking of others and their wants or needs so when she spies a Nook she immediately thinks of me and my redonkulous commute. I am really stoked to have a new toy-I have already affectionately named it Noogie-so when dad hands it off to me, I quickly go down to Barnes and "No Balls" (courtesy of Preston) and buy a casing for it since I tend to drop expensive things (don't let me hold your baby either). I just hope I stay on top of Noogie's well being and that I'm not halfway through my train ride when I'm like, "Crap! My book ran out of batteries!"

I'm totally digging this new form of entertainment and have already downloaded two *free* ebooks and finished one before hitting Hunterspoint this morning. The Smoke Dragon by Shane Jiraiya Cummings is peppered with vocabulary we haven't seen since the SATs so that is totally refreshing plus it's like Raiden from Mortal Kombat meets Gato's underlings from Naruto. Definitely a thumbs up!

Thank you, Moma, for this awesome gift! Looking forward to reading book two later!

Strike!

Day: One Hundred and Ninety

Photo taken on Monday, February 7, 2011 in my office at the Surge at 732am.

I have gotten a lot of compliments on my outfit already and I've only been here for 32 minutes. I always give credit to my mom on these days because if it wasn't for her buying me new clothes for my birthday and Christmas, I would be a hot mess 24/7 instead of being decently put together 14 hours for four days a week.

And sometimes mom forgets she buys me these things. I'll come down the stairs in the TDM and mom will exclaim over my bling-tastic earrings and matching bracelet. "Thank you. You bought them for me." We'll be out to dinner in the city and when I unzip my jacket she'll tell me how much she likes my blouse. "Thank you. I think you got it for me in Macy's." And the rare occasion I don heels and she approves, "thanks! Your gift certificate to DSW. Clearance! Blue sticker!"

I am 28 years old and my mother still dresses me.

And I LOVE it! :-)

I think I can, I think I can.

Day: One Hundred and Fifty Five

Photo taken on Monday, January 3, 2011 in our bedroom at 803pm.

The first time I am introduced to TRX it is at one of my mom's personal training sessions with Mary. Both are totally cool with letting me drop in to try this exceptional workout tool. I immediately fall in love with it when we begin the core exercises because it takes something simple like a plank and turns it into a circus act. The hammie pull-ins hurt like hell but I love how deep I can get into a squat. And then it's the triceps turn...

In the picture I just quickly pretend to struggle with the horrible exercise but really I'm not attempting it yet and the TRX is not even set up at the moment but I had to pose this for Moma. She totally kicks my butt at this one! As we are banging out a set of 15 in the session, Moma is doing it double time compared to me and I can't even straighten my arms! They are literally shaking so bad I can't even complete a full rep. I couldn't wait for the exercise to end and for the rest of my visit I imitate myself trying to push back by holding my breath while shaking my arms and it sends Moma into a laughing fit.

One of my Christmas gifts this year is my very own set of TRX bands! I absolutely love them and look forward to perfecting that damn side plank. Thank you very much for this gift, Moma! It is definitely going to get a lot of use during my ninja training! ^_\

Tosh.0

Day: Ninety Two

Photo taken on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the top of the stairs at 1010pm.

Moma sends us a rather large tin can full of four types of popcorn for our Halloween party. Upon opening the container, Steve makes a decision that we will hide it when guests come over because the caramel popcorn is just too darn delicious to share. I leave it out anyway for everyone but luckily Jenn brings over a big bag of popcorn for the partygoers so Steve's precious cheese flavored popcorn is safe!

Thanks for the snackies, mom!

This guy sure likes posing...

Day: Ninety One
Photo taken on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at our kitchen counter at 917pm.

These are our brand spanking new barstools courtesy of Moma! Thank you so much for these awesome swivel chairs, mom! We're totally digging them; the seat is so comfortable and the checkerboard on the back is really fun looking. You get us such cool gifts! Love you lots!

Sawks

Day: Seventy Three
Photo taken on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 on my bed after showertime.

I've broken out the Halloween socks this month and Moma has bought me even more for me to wear! I was then going to write about my favorite Halloween sock moment but it seems I already have back in 2008 in my Livejournal so I won't waste your time retelling it here.

Catwalk

Day: Seventy One
Photo taken on Monday, October 11, 2010 at 938 pm in our kitchen after my celebratory dinner for the Diva Run at Hotoke in Smithtown, NY (courtesy of moma and bossdad).

My parents wanted me to go out to a nice dinner with Steve-O because they felt bad that some days I had to watch what I consumed in order to run "pain-free" the next day. So of course I choose a hibachi place complete with a sushi roll app, my usual seafood mix for dinner, and a large Kirin Ichiban. Mmmmmm. Since we have some money left over we hit up Baskin because I know one of my favorite flavors has to be out by now, it is the fall...

PUMPKIN!

I love pumpkin flavored stuff! Obviously.

Weiner Dog!

Day: Forty Three

Photo taken on Monday, September 13, 2010 on the bedroom floor after the daily shower.

Apparently while we were showering, our new Halloween decoration (gifted to us by Moma) got into the first bag of Brach's Mellow Pumpkins of the season. I honestly can't blame Weiner Dog, they are so much better than regular candy corn.
